The Soultanieh tree is not limited to the SOuth of Lebanon as we all know, it got stems and brances over 5 continents and lots are dangerously concentrated in LA, the topic of our story.
A reunion occured the second week of August in LA. It's heart- warming to reunite with people you've known since you had baby teeth.
Samar(the reporter) JoAnn, Maha, SOha,Nelly ,Grace and a couple of my cousins too, had a week of fun, soultanieh kind of fun.( Details in the story coming next)
When you're there, you need to pinch yourself every now and then to remember that you're in North America and not in day3a because you bump into the same people you see there. On the beach, at cafes, at other people's house, in open garage doors where tea and argile are so welcoming and inviting you never want go back to where you rarely practice your right to be a social animal( Compared to Lebanon)
This is just a big THANK YOU to the hospitality that embraced me in LA and to the husbands who baby sat for a whole week so me and my lady soultanieh freinds can go out and have a blast. I'm sure the husbands hate me by now. And for my friends and cousins for being who they are, so close to my heart. |
