The Lebanese national team has beat undefeated host Qatar to secure Lebanon a spot in the 2006 World Championships held in Japan and on board is Soultanieh's own Ali Jawdat Fakhreddine.
Meanwhile, numerous online articles are reporting that Ali is responsible for an injury which left Yao Ming with four stitches in his jaw. The articles include China Daily and Ya Libnan, which both list Xinhua as their news source.
Ali Fakhreddine has denied these claims in a phone interview, saying "I was only on the court during the first four minutes of the game."
Ali's brother, Mohamad, agrees that the sources are wrong in an interview over instant messenger. "My bro didn't hit Yao Ming , Fadi Al-Khatib did."
He adds, "i'M SURE. I have it on tape. I saw it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. Its Fadi."
Don't miss the 2006 World Championships! Best of luck to Lebanon and Soultanieh's own Ali Fakhreddine!
